Julian Nagelsmann has become the new coach of the German national team this week. However, the Federation is already thinking about his successor.

Germany has a new national team coach, but it appears to be a temporary arrangement. The German Football Federation (DFB) still seems to hope to convince Jürgen Klopp to take charge of the national team, despite the official announcement of Julian Nagelsmann’s appointment as the coach.

Nagelsmann, who had previously managed Hoffenheim and RB Leipzig, was announced as the new coach of Germany with a short-term contract until July 31, 2024. Just after the Euro, the German Federation will be looking for another coach.

The DFB considers Klopp as its “top candidate” for the long-term position, even though Klopp had previously rejected any link to the position and reaffirmed his commitment to Liverpool, where he has a contract until 2026.
