Lamine Yamal, who became the youngest player to start a Champions League match at the age of 16 years and 83 days, couldn’t finish the game against FC Porto on Wednesday night, despite Barcelona’s 1-0 victory.

It was a rather unusual debut for young Lamine Yamal. During the match, the Barcelona player took an unscheduled bathroom break and never returned to the field.

Barcelona’s coach addressed the situation in a press conference, saying, “Lamine Yamal wasn’t feeling well. He had been telling me for a while that he wasn’t feeling good, that he had a stomachache. We took advantage of a break, but he couldn’t continue, and I was told he didn’t come out.”

Lamine Yamal had just signed a contract extension with Barcelona until 2026, with a release clause set at one billion euros. It’s certainly been a memorable week for the young forward, albeit for unexpected reasons.
