During AC Milan’s victory over Genoa, striker Olivier Giroud found himself in the role of goalkeeper after the expulsion of Mike Maignan in the 90+9th minute. Although he didn’t score, Giroud made a decisive save towards the end of the match. He expressed his satisfaction with this unusual experience.

Giroud said, “I’ve never experienced anything like this in my career. I think I was the tallest, so I went into the goal. When I was a child, I liked that position. Plus, I made a great save at the end of the match. I felt a special emotion when I made that save; it was almost like scoring a goal, and I’m proud of the whole team. We fought like lions. Calabria hit my arm badly, but it’s okay. (…) I’m going to frame this jersey.”

His performance inspired the French national team’s Twitter account, which updated the squad list with Olivier Giroud as the 4th goalkeeper.

You can view the updated squad list on the French national team’s Twitter account. It is of course, a joke.
