During AC Milan’s victory over Genoa, forward Olivier Giroud found himself in the role of goalkeeper after Mike Maignan was sent off in the 90+9th minute.

Despite not scoring, Giroud made a crucial save late in the game. He expressed his satisfaction with this unusual experience.

“I’ve never experienced this in my career. I think I was the tallest, so I went into the goal. When I was a child, I liked that position. Plus, I made a great save at the end of the match.”

“I felt a special emotion when I made that save, it was almost like scoring a goal, and I’m proud of the entire team. We fought like lions. Calabria hit my arm hard, but I’m okay… I’m going to frame this jersey,” appreciated the French international to DAZN.
