Thomas Tuchel will not continue as the head coach of Bayern Munich for the 2024-2025 season. Despite having a contract in place until June 2025, the German coach will step down from his role at the end of the current season.

It’s official. Bayern Munich is parting ways with Thomas Tuchel. The split will occur at the end of the season. “After open and constructive discussions, we have mutually agreed to end our collaboration at the end of this season. Our goal is to make a sporting adjustment with the arrival of a new coach for the 2024-2025 season. Until then, every member of the club is called upon to meet our objectives in the Champions League and the Bundesliga,” said the chairman of the board, Jan-Christian Dreesen, in an official statement.

Thomas Tuchel has also confirmed. “We have agreed to end our collaboration after this season. Until then, my staff and I will, of course, continue to do our utmost to ensure maximum success,” Tuchel promised. The new objective now is to avoid being the first Bayern coach to lose the Bundesliga title since 2012.

To replace him, Bayern Munich is considering recruiting Xabi Alonso or even Zinedine Zidane.
