The aim was to dispel any misunderstandings, as rumors circulated that Barcelona might be willing to sell him to bolster its finances.
Deco allegedly confirmed that Frenkie de Jong is one of Barcelona’s “cornerstones.” Sport reports that the club has promised to extend his contract, which expires in 2026. Meanwhile, the player reportedly has no intention of leaving for now. Thus, an agreement has been reached between the two parties, much to PSG’s dismay.
During a press conference, Frenkie de Jong expressed his frustration with the rumors about him.
