Kylian Mbappé is on the verge of achieving what he wants from Real Madrid: a significant share of his image rights.

According to L’Équipe, Kylian Mbappé will receive an annual gross salary ranging between 30 and 35 million euros at Madrid, along with a signing bonus between 100 and 130 million euros. And this is excluding the earnings from his image rights. Negotiations between the parties are still ongoing regarding this aspect.

As per El Chiringuito and AS, an agreement is close to being finalized to reserve 80% of the French player’s image rights, leaving only 20% for Real Madrid. This amount will serve as an alternative way to compensate the French international besides his salary.

However, this deal would only cover contracts signed after joining Real Madrid. Mbappé’s current contracts, signed while he was at PSG, would not be included. Nevertheless, Real Madrid has stepped back on this issue, as traditionally, the club does not concede more than 50% of image rights.

One of the first exceptions was in 2009 when Cristiano Ronaldo obtained… 60% of his image rights. Thus, Kylian Mbappé already surpasses his idol in this regard.
