In a press conference, Manchester City’s coach, Pep Guardiola, has issued a clear message to Real Madrid regarding the club’s star striker, Erling Haaland. The Norwegian forward has been increasingly linked to a potential move to Real Madrid, but Guardiola asserts that Haaland is firmly a part of Manchester City.

Despite being under contract until June 2027, speculations in the Spanish press suggest that Haaland’s entourage is pushing for a switch to Real Madrid in the upcoming summer transfer window.

Guardiola stated, “Do you think a rumor, a journalist, a Twitter or Instagram account can have an impact on what will happen? No. We’ll see when Erling decides whether to extend his contract or not, when the club decides whether to extend his contract or not, or when we have offers for him. If someone wants Erling, it’s easy. Just call Manchester City and ask. That’s how we operate when we want to recruit a player.”

Regarding City’s position on Haaland’s future, Guardiola emphasized, “Our stance? What do you think? Don’t we want to see him here for a decade? We want him to stay here for a very long time. For a really long time. We love him, we want him more than anything.”

He added, “But how the future will unfold? Honestly, I don’t know. We’re happy to have him, I hope he’s happy with us. The rest? I don’t know.”
