Despite the narrow 1-1 draw against Newcastle in the Champions League on Tuesday, Kylian Mbappé expressed his frustration by criticizing the English team’s style of play.
The Paris Saint-Germain forward claimed that the Magpies had shown nothing during the match. However, according to English right-back Kieran Trippier, Mbappé’s reaction is a testament to Newcastle’s success in the game.
“It really shows how far we’ve come as a club,” responded the former Atletico Madrid player to Chronicle Live.
“PSG was frustrated they couldn’t break down our defense. They had a few half-chances, but we made it difficult for them. I’ve played abroad, and I know what it’s like. We have the best manager for that. It’s not always pretty to watch, but PSG was frustrated, and we’re disappointed. But I think PSG was more disappointed than us, and that’s a good sign.”
