On Thursday, AS Roma suffered a defeat against Genoa (1-4), confirming their difficulties in Serie A at the beginning of the season. The team has already recorded three losses and two draws in six matches.

For José Mourinho, this marks the “worst start” of his career. “I didn’t speak to my players after the match, except to say goodbye to them. After the disallowed goal at 2-1, we felt we could have equalized.”

“After 3-1, it was game over. The fourth goal is irrelevant; it’s the kind of evening that can end in disaster. It could even finish with five or six goals… It’s trivial. It’s true that it’s the worst start of my career. But this club had never reached two European finals before me,” said the Roma coach during a press conference.

“Can this group turn it around? It’s not the time to talk about it anymore. The group will remain the same; the transfer window is closed, and no one else will arrive. We don’t have time to cry,” he added.
