Neymar sustained a knee injury to his left knee during Brazil’s 2-0 defeat to Uruguay in the 2026 World Cup qualifiers. The injury is considered “worrying” by his national team coach.

The communication director of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) stated that it was a “worrying” injury but did not provide further details. Neymar fell to the ground following a collision with Uruguayan midfielder De la Cruz and appeared to twist his knee.

According to Globo Esporte, Neymar might have suffered a serious sprain, although the Brazilian national team’s doctor, Rodrigo Lasmar, remains cautious. Further examinations will be conducted.
