On Wednesday, during the eighth round of the Coupe de France between PSG and Stade Brestois, Kylian Mbappé was the victim of a remarkable studs-up challenge by Lilian Brassier in the 69th minute.

Kylian Mbappé used his body movement to shake off his opponent’s marking and let the ball run through. The Brest player, Brassier, completely outmatched, then stepped on the ankle of the PSG player.

Already cautioned in the 60th minute for elbowing Danilo in the face, the former Stade Rennais player logically received a second yellow card, resulting in his expulsion.

Following this significant foul, Mbappé remained on the ground for a few moments, attended to by the PSG medical staff. Although he got up grimacing, he returned to the field apparently without too much difficulty. Initial examinations are said to be reassuring, but PSG will obviously not take any risks with their player this weekend in Ligue 1.

“I feel bad. I hope there’s nothing serious for him. It’s part of football. I wanted to intervene directly with the ball at my feet, unfortunately, I missed,” commented the Breton player to France Bleu in the mixed zone.
