Emiliano Martínez looked back on the historic final that Argentina won against the French national team in December last year.

In an interview with France Football, Martínez expressed his admiration for the French striker, stating that Mbappé was the most formidable opponent he has ever faced. According to the Argentine goalkeeper, Mbappé will win numerous Ballon d’Or awards in the future.

“If Kylian made me suffer? Yes, it’s not for nothing that he is considered one of the best players in the world. I have a lot of respect for him, both as a player and as a person,” confessed the Aston Villa goalkeeper.

“Obviously, there are images that have been circulated, and something unrelated to my personality has been created. Kylian is a role model. This guy is amazing and already has a World Cup with France, besides scoring a hat-trick against me in the final. I think he can be proud, and so can the French. Is he the best forward I’ve faced? Yes, clearly. When Messi and Ronaldo retire, I think he will step up and win numerous Ballon d’Or awards.”
