Erol Tokgözler, former coach of young Arda Güler during his time with Genclerbirligi U13, believes that the budding talent could outshine Lionel Messi.
Arda Güler, 18 years old, was signed by Real Madrid for approximately €20 million this summer, but injuries have so far limited his opportunities to showcase his talent. However, his former coach sees him as the new Messi.
“Messi is the greatest player I’ve ever seen, and Arda has tremendous potential. Messi has already achieved everything, and Arda has to do it; he’s still a kid.”
“But if we’re purely talking about potential, Arda has more potential than Messi, even though he still has a long way to go. His football career is just beginning, and he needs to play many matches to become the player he can be.”
“However, as I mentioned, Arda’s potential is greater than Messi’s. I’m only speaking about potential, of course,” he stated in an interview with AS.
