Rumors of Luis Campos’s departure circulated throughout the summer, especially concerning the Kylian Mbappé situation. However, according to L’Equipe, the sports advisor’s position is not currently at risk.
Was Luis Campos on the way out? That was the major rumor last summer. But, for the time being, the future of the sports advisor seems to be on hold, as the summer transfer window appears to have yielded satisfactory results.
“Today, the Portuguese, who has two years left on his contract and whose position was criticized by some regarding the Mbappé case, is no longer in immediate danger. Especially since he shares the same view as Al-Khelaïfi on the project’s evolution: fewer stars, more collective players who identify with the club. His motto: recruit players who love PSG, not those who love Paris and its nightlife,” reports L’Equipe.
“In April, the two men went to Doha to present various coaching projects to the shareholders, corresponding to this change in paradigm. And when Luis Enrique was chosen and gave his approval, he was received by the same duo,” highlights the sports journal. Luis Campos seems set to stay.
